Emily had her first high school event tonight. The high school she has chosen is having a pizza party for all the incoming freshman. She had the chance to mingle with her classmates and make some new friends. It was nice to see her so happy and excited about her new school.

Den had his CT of his back today. We arrived at 830AM for his test. The tech called for him at 945AM. The good news is that it doesn’t take long for the scan and we were on our way home before 11AM. Now we just have to wait for the call with the results, which should be in the next day or two.

We went this morning for Den’s weekly blood draw. The results were sent to the LVAD Team quickly and his INR was 1.6. So a slight increase in his Warafrin tonight and then back to his usual dose tomorrow.

I dropped Em off at school and then stayed for the school mass. The 8th Graders were presented with their ribbons at mass. I know it is a small thing, but I was so proud when Emily received hers. It is hard to believe that she is graduating grade school in just a few weeks.
Shortly after the mass was over, I got the call from Katie from the IR Team. Den’s results were in. He had another compression fracture. This time it was in the L2 vertebra. She had already talked to the LVAD Team and scheduled Den for the Kyphoplasty procedure on Tuesday. She told me to hold Den’s Warafrin until the procedure. She also said that she was putting in an order for blood work before the procedure and we should go to the lab before noon to have the blood draw and then head over to registration. Den should not have anything to eat or drink after 6AM the day of the procedure.
When I told Den the results, he was happy to know that he would not be in pain for much longer.
